July Fourth Celebrations Around West Cobb – Things To Do

July Fourth Celebrations will be taking place all around West Cobb, and you can even attend more than one since some are on different days. Growing up in small towns in northern New Jersey, I remember standing on the sidewalk watching the parade, waving a flag as veterans, neighborhood business floats, and marching bands parading by. In high school we lived across the street from where the holiday festivities were held and sat on blankets in our front yard to watch the evening fireworks display. The holiday is steeped in history, but also in so many childhood memories. Living in West Cobb often reminds me of those days as I attend neighborhood festivals and celebrations. And while I love the proximity of a “big city”, I cannot imagine living anywhere else! My only dilemma now is which celebration to attend.

In addition to the community events below, several neighborhoods will host their own celebrations for residents. Check with your HOA to see what’s going in your neighborhood.

If you want to venture around metro Atlanta , here are some festivities you might want to look into. Some of these begin or occur prior to July 4th, require advance registration and/or admission fees, so please click the links to learn more.

Favorite Burgers in West Cobb

There is nothing quite so American as a burger. Fast food holds nothing to a real beef burger! And there are several great burger places around West Cobb where you can enjoy a burger, fries, onion rings and more. Listening to neighbors, we have determined that these are the “favorite burgers around West Cobb”. Do you agree? Take our survey at the end of this post and let us know! We’ll share the results.

BurgerFi

Conveniently located in downtown Kennesaw, BurgerFi is a small eclectic restaurant offering counter service as well as an outside rooftop area. Their menu ranges from veggi burgers to beef burgers, as well as hot dogs, sides, desserts and alcoholic beverages. The onion rings are huge! I ordered the small fry order of fries, and it would have been sufficient for a family of 4! Don’t want bread? You can have your burger wrapped in lettuce.

Cheeseburger Bobby’s

There are three locations in our for Cheeseburger Bobby’s, known for it’s topping bar. They offer a variety of burgers, sides and other items, including ice cream and desserts.

Five Guys

Once you have placed your order, enjoy the roasted peanuts while you wait for it to be ready. Their burgers include a variety of topping choices including peppers, grilled onions and mushrooms. If you want something other than a burger, you can also choose from a variety of hot dogs and specialty sandwiches, including grilled cheese. I am always amazed at the size of their side of order of fries, which I think is enough to feed an entire family (unless you really like a lot of fries)!

Smashburger

This modern environment burger place provides a variety of beef burgers and chicken options with bun and topping options from avocado to goat cheese, bacon to mushrooms. In addition to lettuce, you can also opt for spinach. If bread is not your thing, you can also choose from a variety of salad options, as well as vegetable fries in lieu of traditional fries or onion rings. And of course, don’t forget one of the many flavored hand-spun milkshakes.

Stockyard Burgers

Offering an eclectic menu of burgers from traditional beef burgers to pork, veggie and tuna burgers, with unique names and toppings. I found it very difficult to find a “plain” burger – even the Plain Jane had toppings and sauces. But after checking with the server, I learned that the Plain Jane was indeed their “plain” burger and could be ordered without the fancy toppings. When it arrived, I liked it! And since it was my friend’s birthday, we shared a peach/apple cobbler! Located just off Marietta Square, the building offers an eclectic atmosphere as well. You can enjoy your burger with a variety of beverages including alcoholic beverages such as bourbons, and more.

Stoner-Burger

Yet another eclectic menu of burgers as well as atmosphere. Decor reminiscent of the Woodstock era with tie die and artwork on the walls, the chef/owner brings 20 years of culinary expertise. The menu offers a variety of appetizers, burgers and signature cocktails.
