Avalon
Avalon is a walkable, mixed-use community in Alpharetta, Georgia, in North Fulton, where luxury residences sit alongside roughly 500,000 square feet of shopping, dining, and entertainment. Opened in 2014 on an 86-acre site off Old Milton Parkway near GA 400, it was designed around a live, work, and play concept that is unusual for the suburbs.
The for-sale homes are a mix of single-family residences and courtyard-style townhomes, built in the years after the development opened. Townhomes commonly run three to four bedrooms with open floor plans and rear-entry garages, some with finished basements or a primary suite on the main level. Because the residential component is relatively small and tightly held, single-family listings in particular tend to be limited, which keeps Avalon in the upper price tier for the area.
What sets Avalon apart is what sits outside your door. Residents can walk to a Whole Foods market, a Regal cinema, a day spa, a hotel, and a long list of restaurants, along with a central plaza, green space, and a seasonal ice skating rink. The result is a setting where dinner, errands, and entertainment are a short walk rather than a drive.
Avalon's location adds to the appeal. With GA 400 close by, the rest of North Fulton and the wider Atlanta metro are within easy reach, and Historic Downtown Alpharetta is just minutes away. Avalon is one of the few communities in the area built specifically around a low-maintenance, walkable lifestyle.
